Who We Are and What We Do
About ElderCare
ElderCare is a family-owned company founded in 1996 by Florence native Jean Gay Mussleman. Her son, Dee Mussleman, has been with ElderCare since it's founding and is now the owner of the agency. We provide non-medical home care, personal care, and household assistance in the Shoals area of northwest Alabama.
Although most of our clients are seniors, we provide our caregiving services to clients of all ages. In addition to helping older clients continue living comfortably at home, we also provide care for people who have disabilities or who are recovering from surgery, illness or injury.
We know that trust and compassion are major elements of providing excellent care. Our caregivers are trustworthy, caring, compassionate and experienced. They have passed rigorous background checks and have met high standards to be a part of the ElderCare team. We understand that needs are unique, which is why we carefully match caregivers to our clients to provide the best possible service.

Those who are already stretched thin with family and job responsibilities may feel overwhelmed when confronted with the realities of caring for an aging relative. We can discuss ways in which home care would be helpful to your loved one. We can help assess needs and develop a plan of care. We understand families' needs for consultation and support, recognizing that every situation is different. Our services are personalized to meet the special needs of each client.
